Dear Dr Park, I wanted to know your opinion on using MAD devices for UARS. Are they effective?
Usama,
Mandibular advancement devices can be helpful for UARS, but the only way to know is to try it. The biggest barrier is that it’s generally not covered by insurance if you don’t officially have obstructive sleep apnea. It’s given by dentists often for snoring, which is something within the umbrella of UARS. Good luck!
