Go beyond the routine sleep hygiene recommendations, to the root source of the problem: poor breathing

Millions of people suffer from chronic insomnia, taking countless numbers of over-the-counter or prescription sleep aids. What most people (including doctors) don’t realize is that for many, an underlying breathing problem may be what’s causing insomnia. Many more struggle with their current sleep apnea treatment options, whether it's CPAP or dental appliances. Surgical options are so numerous, that even most PCPs and even ENTs don't know what the best options are.



The first step is to be aware that you may be having subtle or severe breathing problems at night while you sleep. It's been shown that even young, thin women that don't snore can have severe obstructive sleep apnea. You can also stop breathing 20 times per hour and still not have sleep apnea.
